Five-Star Running Back Ty Isaac Signs With USC
Isaac is everything you look for in a running back. The 6-foot-3, 217-pound prospect is nifty despite his stature and boasts breakaway speed and reliable hands, making him a coveted three-down running back.
The Joliet Catholic Academy (Joliet, Ill.) prospect rushed for 2,114 yards and 45 touchdowns his junior season and followed that up by averaging 10 yards per carry over the course of his senior campaign; he was named the Chicago Sun-Times Player of the Year. Isaac is a smooth, one-cut downhill running back, who possesses the vision to find holes in the defense. He pledged his allegiance to the Trojans last May despite receiving offers from powerhouses Notre Dame, Michigan, Ohio State and Oklahoma.
Regardless of USC’s underwhelming season and Silas Redd’s decision to return for his senior season, the five-star running back (as ranked by Scout.com), held firm on his commitment to don the cardinal and gold. Isaac has been a blue chip recruit for the Trojans since day one, and a crowded backfield at Tailback U should not stop coach Kiffin from finding ways to utilize his elite skill set even as a true freshman.
