Authorities have decided to reduce search efforts for murder suspect Christopher Dorner in Big Bear, five days after his Nissan truck was found abandoned and burned in the area, according to ABC7.

San Bernardino County Sheriff’s officials say about 30 law enforcement officers will continue searching for Dorner in the forest, in addition to unoccupied vacation homes, rentals and cabins. The number of officers patrolling the area was downsized significantly after no credible leads were uncovered over the weekend.

Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa announced on Sunday a $1 million reward for information leading to the ex-LAPD officer’s arrest. The LAPD plans to reopen the investigation into the proceedings that led to Dorner’s firing, which apparently led the 33-year-old to seek revenge against former colleagues who he believed cost him his job.

Dorner is suspected of fatally shooting Monica Quan and Keith Lawrence inside a parking garage of their Irvine apartment complex on Feb. 3. He is also wanted in connection to two shootings in the Inland Empire, which claimed the life of one police officer.
