Dorner Died Of Gunshot, Autopsy Confirms
KABC reported the announcement came Friday from San Bernardino County Sheriff John McMahon at an afternoon press conference.
According to the Los Angeles Times, "Officials said it appears the wound was self-inflicted but said a final determination has not been made."
Dorner's burned body was removed from the destroyed cabin in Angelus Oaks where he had barricaded himself after leading the LAPD and area law enforcement agencies on a massive manhunt.
His corpse was positively identified Thursday through dental records.
Before his own death, Dorner killed four people on a rampage — the daughter of his police union representative and her fiancé, a Riverside police officer and a San Bernardino County sheriff's deputy.
