It's not that far-fetched to expect Jack White to sneak in an unexpected F-bomb during his performance at Sunday's Grammy Awards. But CBS claims he didn't.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, What sounded a lot like "F--- me," during his live "Love Interrupted" performance, CBS says was actually "Fight me." The network insists that its editors listened to the performance several times to confirm, and are so confident no expletives were dropped that they didn't edit it for the later West Coast airing.

"We had 10 editors, and three people on site, and all are experienced, all with multiple Grammy, Big Brother, multiple Tony experience, experience with doing these delays. They went through all of the rehearsals. They have prepared meticulously. And not a single one of them heard anything other than the word 'fight,'" Martin Franks, CBS's Executive VP of Planning, Policy and Government Affairs told the Hollywood Reporter.
