The trailer for "Spring Breakers," released Thursday, is the complete opposite of what former Disney stars Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens were once known for. Alongside their co-stars Ashley Benson and Rachel Korine, the girls are seen robbing banks, dancing in neon bikini’s, counting wads of cash, getting arrested, and firing guns by the swimming pool.

The film, in theaters March 22, takes place in Miami, where the girls run into the law after having robbed a restaurant to fund their spring break vacation. They get thrown in hand cuffs (while still in bikinis, of course), and sent to jail. James Franco’s character bails them out, but only to seduce them into all kinds of other trouble.

You’ll get a sneak peak at James Franco’s character, Alien, wearing cornrows and gold teeth- (admittedly, our favorite part of the trailer.) Gucci Mane also makes an appearance in the trailer being.. well, very Gucci Mane-ish.

It's an eclectic showcase of Miami’s neon art deco fashion where the party's always going, red drinking cups are shown in every hand, and Srillex music blares in the background. What will Selena fans think?

The starlet admitted to being nervous about the film to MTV. It portrays her in a very different light than her Disney days on "Wizards of Waverly Place." The 20-year-old actress told MTV, "...it's a right step for me. I'm really proud of it. I think that as an actress it really challenged me and all the other actresses are also trying to prove themselves. So, it was just really really fun."

If “proving herself” is what she’s aiming for, she’s definitely showing her fans her style is evolving. With the trailer out today and her new cover for February's Nylon Magazine on newsstands, the once squeaky clean Disney princess shows off her edgier side, probably to prepare her fans for the film.

Check out the trailer below and sound off in the comments: is this film a must-see? And will fans of these starlets embrace the actresses' newfound edge?
