Shooting In Houston Leaves Four In Hospital
Four people were hospitalized Tuesday afternoon in a shooting at Lone Star College North Harris campus in north Houston, according to officials.
The Houston Chronicle reported that two individuals--including one student-- were involved in a fight, which escalated into a shooting where a maintenance worker was shot as an innocent bystander.
A female student experienced an unknown medical emergency as a result of the shooting, and along with the three injured males, was taken to a local hospital.
"We found that the incident was not an active shooter incident, but an altercation between two individuals," said Maj. Armando Tello of the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
It remains unclear whether the individuals involved in the fight were injured as a result of shooting at this time, though both are being held as persons of interest as of Tuesday evening.
Lone Star College cleared out students and staff as the reports of the shooting emerged, but classes are set to resume Wednesday as scheduled.
The shooting was the fifth on a school campus since the start of 2013, according to KTRK Houston.
