Thursday marked the beginning of the confirmation process for Massachusetts Senator John Kerry to be the next Secretary of State. Kerry will go before the committee in which he is the Chair, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. This is the same committee current Secretary of State Clinton testified to on Wednesday about the attack in Benghazi.

John Kerry is facing tough questions from Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY). Sen. Paul, along with other Republicans on the committee, who also asked tough questions to Secretary Clinton.

The hearing did not come without controversy, however. A protestor did briefly interrupt the hearing. ABC is reporting that the female protester was protesting about the Middle East.

At the time of filing, the hearing is still going on.
