Former Alaska Governor and GOP sweetheart Sarah Palin is cutting ties with Fox News amid rumors of a rift with channel chief Roger Ailes.

According to The Associated Press, the announcement came Friday, but whispers of discontent arose as early as last summer.

That's when Palin, who had been a Fox News mainstay since 2010, posted on Facebook, "I'm sorry Fox cancelled all my scheduled interviews tonight."

Network heads up top are glazing over the departure, though.

“We have thoroughly enjoyed our association with Governor Palin,” read a statement from Bill Shine, an executive vice president at Fox News. “We wish her the best in her future endeavors.”
