The Girls: Hannah has marched to the beat of her own drummer since she cut her camp shirt into a halter top. She is also better at rocking "shorterals"  and quoting Missy Elliot in heated arguments than dating a Republican. Shoshanna is in love, obviously. Marnie now has a pretty person job as a hostess and according to Elijah she "looks like a slutty Van Trap child." Jessa is practicing her painting and nurturing skills with new puppies, Garbage, F****r and Hanukkah.

The Guys: Elijah is single and pretty sad about it. Adam is redefining crazy with a hateful album as he is still depressed over his and Hannah's break up. He also is now in custody of the NYPD courtesy of Hannah's 2 second 911 phone call.

To the "average" person, things are getting pretty out of hand for the four ladies and their male friends and foes. But to the "average" "Girls" viewer, it's just another crazy day in the city. To the "Girls" and music lover the second episode of the second season was a little musically underwhelming. Only one song was played last night, and that was M. Ward's "I Get Ideas" during the credits.

Considering last week's massive amount of songs and the several dramatic shifts (in relationships alone), this week I think a quieter episode is acceptable. Yeah, I said it. But I'm also hoping that next week will bring some firey tunes! Fingers crossed!
