Top Pakistani militant Mullah Nazir was killed by an American drone strike.

Nazir was a leader of one of the four major militant factions in Pakistan, according to the Daily Beast. He is credited with sending fighters to Afghanistan to back the Taliban and fight Americans.

Even though he was considered dangerous by Americans, Pakistanis saw him as keeping peace in the region and his death could therefore have implications on U.S.-Pakistani relations.

At least five others were killed in the strike, according to the BBC.
