Vice President Joe Biden attended the U.S. Conference of Mayors Thursday, speaking on the issue of gun policy reform. He said that this matter is "more urgent and immediate" than any other.

He defended President Obama's gun control legislation proposals, unveiled this week. Biden had created most of the proposals after his meetings with over 200 organizations with an interest in the issue of gun violence.

He asked the mayors to use their influence to pressure lawmakers to support President Obama's proposals.
