Asteroid 2012 DA14 is expected to pass dangerously close to Earth and its communication satellites Feb. 15, according to the Daily Beast.

Initially, some were concerned that it would come to close to Earth, but astronomers now say there should be no fear of possible impact, according to the Daily Beast.

The asteroid is predicted to pass Earth closer than the moon. As a result, Earth's gravitational pull could affect its path.
