8 Algerian Troops Injured Ending Hostage Crisis

For the first time since the Algerian hostage incident took place, the Algerian government acknowledged eight troops were injured in ending the conflict.

The eight injured soldiers only suffered minor wounds during the attack that ultimately claimed the lives of 37 hostages and 29 militants.

Last week, militants seized an Algerian gas field for four days, threatening to blow the complex. Algerian troops unsuccessfully launched an air attack before turning to a ground assault to end the crisis.
