The State Department said Saturday Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is recovering at home after suffering a concussion when she fainted, the Washington Post reported.

Clinton, who canceled an overseas trip this week due to a stomach virus, fainted after she became dehydrated due to the virus, the department said. She will continue to work from next week, while being monitored by doctors.

The 65-year-old Clinton, was due to testify in congressional hearings related to the Sept. 11, 2012 attack in Benghazi, Libya, which killed four Americans, including U.S. ambassador Chris Stevens. Her health complications might cause the hearing to be delayed.

Clinton has stated she does not plan to stay on board during President Barack's second term. The White House will nominate her replacement later this month.
