Thursday night's episode picked up right where last week's left off, with President Fitz being shot in front of his birthday gala. Complete chaos erupted, and Olivia is rushed to the hospital where the president is being treated. She seems shell shocked, and looks completely gutted from the experience. Even Mellie, the first lady is showing genuine emotion, in what seems like a first for her. The disorder  created a power vacuum, permitting the Vice President to seize this opportunity. Right away she began to make her move to take her place as the President of the United States. Due to the Vice President's power play Olivia had to return to the White House in attempt to thwart the takeover. While back at the White House, Olivia became overcome with memories shared between her and Fitz. We are shown flashbacks of Fitz and Olivia, they show the early days of his administration and the passion Fitz and Olivia had for each other, we get a glimpse at the few unknowns of Olivia and the president's love story. Those flash backs leave no question that those two belong together.
Believe it or not there was another bombshell dropped in Thursday night's episode. We found out that it was Hollis, an influential politician that was behind bombing that took 7 lives, resulting in the prosecution of Quinn Perkins. Now completing the circle and explaining why Olivia felt that she needed to help Quinn out.
By the end of the episode Fitz was still in critical condition, and despite Olivia’s best efforts the Vice President successfully conspired her way into the Oval Office. Now all that is left is the question, who shot Fitz? In a both shocking and puzzling finish, the identity of the shooter is revealed. It was Huck, Pope And Associates's muscle man! What ever possessed Huck to attempt to assassinate the President is beyond comprehension. Next week promises to divulge some explanation to why Huck went rogue. Can’t wait to see what Olivia has up her sleeve for Huck, she might be saving her best trick for last!

See what is in store for next week below

Yeah Trisha your right someone definitely put Huck up to it. I wonder if it was the first lady, now that would be a scandal!

Maybe I was just oblivious, but I did not see any of the twists in this episode coming. I was shocked when I watched it. I wasn’t able to watch it live because I was working late at DISH when it aired, but I caught it on my DVR as soon as I got home. Scandal was set to auto-record on my DISH Hopper along with the other big four prime time network shows using PrimeTime Anytime, so I didn’t have to worry about missing the show even though I forgot to set a timer. And I still can’t believe Huck shot the president. Someone had to have put him up to it.
