A man gunned down three people in Pennsylvania Friday, just as National Rifle Association Chief Wayne LaPierre told reporters in a press conference that "the only thing that stops a bad guy with a fun is a good guy with a gun."

Local station WJAC reported state police received a 911 call about shots fired along a rural road in Blair County. One woman was shot and killed while decorating Juniata Valley Gospel Church for a children's Christmas party. Another man was shot in his driveway, on his way out to go Christmas shopping.

According to reports, the gunman fired shots at marked patrol cars from his truck as they passed. Three state troopers were injured in the process of taking down the shooter.

Officials said they would not speculate on the relationship of the slain gunman to his victims, and would not release names during a press conference Friday afternoon.
