Once an aspiring actor, Burton turned to the Macy's Lancôme fragrance counter before climbing the ranks to eventually become vice president of artistry programs and artistic director.

The Emmy-nominated makeup artist met Oprah through her best friend, Gayle King, and the rest is history, traveling around the world with the talk show host.

Oprah took to Twitter, telling her followers, “So sad to hear of the passing of one my makeup artists @rossfburton. Ross RIP my friend.”
