At the GOP Victory Party in Orange County, Calif., Bridget Willard stood in the back, head bowed as she furiously typed out tweets on her iPhone.

The Dana Point resident is known as "Gidgey" in the digital world, a prolific conservative Christian tweeter and self-professed social media geek.

"I'd be a liar if I didn't say that I am disappointed President Obama won. #ocgop," she tweeted to more than 9,500 followers.

This was her first big GOP event and she was excited to attend. Willard was never as interested in politics as she is now - she began her political activism in 2008, when her company, a general contractor, cut employee pay by 20 percent for three and a half years.

"I lost like a minimum of $30,000 in three and a half years," said Willard. "That's why I say I can't afford to be a Republican but I can't afford not to be."

She's a social conservative, but it's the economy that she said concerns her most.

"It's about the spending," said Willard. Under President Obama, she saw the economy "shut off like a tap." She even considered leaving the state, though she grew up here. She calls Dana Point her home.

Now that Obama has been re-elected, the option of leaving California is not off the table.

"If I lose my job, I'll have to," said Willard. "It's really hard to make it in Orange County on $15 an hour."
