Pepsi Introduces New Fat Fighting Soda

Yesterday Pepsi introduced a new drink called Pepsi Special to its Japanese market. Pepsi Special is a version of its regular soda drink that will supposedly act as a fat blocker, The Daily Mail reports.
Japan, a county with a very low obesity rate is no stranger to experimental food and drinks—they have engineered and sold cubic watermelons in order to save space, canned bread, and basil seed soda.
Pepsi hopes that its new soft drink will fit right in.
Pepsi Special is made with dextrin, an ingredient in non-toxic children’s glues. It is also a common fiber supplement.
Some of the documented fat slashing side effects of dextrin include: an increase in health-promoting digestive bacteria, reduction of cholesterol and fat cells, increase in a satisfied appetite, and reduction in blood sugar levels.
No information yet has been released on the amount of sugar or high fructose corn syrup that Pepsi Special will contain.
A spokesman for Pepsi assured The Daily Mail that the drink will have a “crisp refreshing and unique aftertaste.”
Pepsi has not yet announced whether or not the drink will be sold in The U.S. or any other country besides Japan.
