New Corp. head Rupert Murdoch tweeted Saturday night: “Why Is Jewish owned press so consistently anti-Israel in every crisis?”

The media mogul, and rumored buyer for Tribune Co., which own the Los Angeles Times and the Chicago Tribune, is not Jewish.

Sunday, Murdoch took to Twitter again, in what the Daily Beast called a "non-apology."

"',Jewish owned press’ have been sternly criticized, suggesting link to Jewish reporters. Don’t see this, but apologise unreservedly,” Murdoch's tweet said.

The initial Tweet was meant as a complaint about the U.S. media's treatment of the Gaza crisis, according to the Salon.
