This morning Los Angeles Lakers fans woke up to the news that Mike D' Antoni is the new head coach instead of Phil Jackson and many were not happy. He will sign a four-year contract worth $12 million and is expected to take over officially in one to two weeks. Sports Illustrated reports this decision came as a surprise because Phil Jackson was rumored over the weekend to be returning. That deal broke down due to Jackson's alleged demand to have total control of the franchise, independent of the owners, according to David Aldridge of NBA.com.
