Bieber and Gomez have split up due to their busy schedules making it "harder and harder to maintain a relationship," a source told E! News.

The source said the pair parted ways about a week ago. Rumors of the couple's breakup picked up a notch when Bieber, 18, was seen with Victoria's Secret model Barbara Palvin at a Broadway showing of The Lion King.

Fans (or haters) of "Jelena" shouldn't be surprised by news of the breakup, since the couple was rumored to be having relationship troubles for weeks. Sources told RadarOnline in October, that Bieber and Gomez were on the verge of breaking up all the time, because jealousy was killing the relationship. The source claimed that Bieber was head over heels for Gomez, 20, but she wasn't feeling it anymore, and was just riding out the relationship because her team felt the relationship was good for her image.

The 20-year-old Gomez and Bieber went public with the relationship in February 2011 when they attended a Vanity Fair Oscar party.
