Pixar's hit movie Monsters, Inc. is back--and now in the wonderful (and lucrative) form of 3D. It seems that re-releasing hit movies in 3D is the new trend, and Monsters, Inc. has jumped on board.
Guilt Trip (December 19)
Barbra Streisand and Seth Rogen partner up in this new on-the-road comedy about a son who, out of guilt, invites his mother to drive cross-country with him as he tries to sell his inventions.
Zero Dark Thirty (December 19)
From the Oscar-winning director of The Hurt Locker comes an action thriller that follows the true story of the hunt for Osama Bin Laden that ended last year. With Bin Laden's death still fresh in our nation's memory, Zero Dark Thirty is sure to draw audiences.
Jack Reacher (December 21)
Tom Cruise stars in this new mystery/suspense drama as Jack Reacher, an ex-military man who has no regard for the law, "only what's right." Cruise's character is called upon to investigate a military criminal case that leads him on a quest to find the true orchestrator of an event that left five people dead.
Judd Apatow is at it again, this time with This is 40, a story of a couple who attempt to grapple with their anything but stimulating marriage in the 4th decade of their lives. Starring Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann as the frontman and woman of this feel-good comedy, This is 40 is sure to be a crowd-pleaser
Parental Guidance (December 25)
Billy Crystal and Bette Midler star in this family comedy about life as not only parents, but grandparents. When Crystal and Midler's characters agree to babysit for their grandchildren, they have trouble dealing with the new generation that their grandchildren are growing up in. In a film where "old school" officially meets "new school," Crystal and Midler are sure to deliver laughs for the whole family.
Django Unchained (December 25)
Quentin Tarantino brings another highly anticipated film to this season, Django Unchained, which stars Jamie Foxx as Civil War-era slave, Django. Django's life crosses paths with a bounty hunter (Christoph Waltz) who enlists his help in finding two criminals that Django is more than familiar with. Other notable actors in the film include Leonardo DiCaprio and Samuel L. Jackson.
Sure to be one of the biggest hits this Christmas, Les Misérables boasts an immense star-studded cast. Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried and Eddie Redmayne, among others, star in this film based off of one of the most popular and successful musicals of all time by the same name.
