British songstress Florence Welch is set to tackle some new music soon, but alas, it won’t be in the form of a third album. Instead, she’s working on a musical with a childhood friend. (Vulture)

Ah, TV pickups and cancellations time. The most recent news out of ABC is that freshman series “Last Resort” and “666 Park Avenue” have not been renewed for a second season, although that could change later on this year or early next. (EW)

Who’s the latest director to refute “Star Wars” rumors? It’s Brad Bird, the man behind, among other things, “The Incredibles.” (The Hollywood Reporter)

Jamie Foxx has been set to host “Saturday Night Live” on December 8, presumably as part of the publicity run up to the release of “Django Unchained.” (Deadline)

Rihanna’s new track “Diamonds” gets a rap boost from Kanye West, because apparently no track is complete these days without a guest verse remix. (Stereogum)
