A man was arrested for dressing in women's clothing and trespassing in a "women only" park in Sharjah, one of the United Arab Emirates.

According to reports, the man, identified only as his initials, R.S.R., donned an abaya and shayla to enter the park on a day reserved only for women.

"He was walking around the park in the abaya enjoying his time there," a Sharjah Police official told the Daily Mail

He was arrested after a woman nearby spotted his moustache and reported him to authorities. Multiple complaints were made by female visitors, who said they were "suspicious" of the man.

A police statement said that he had gone to the park that day to "perv."

He was later discovered to be an Indian national living in the country without a valid visa, another charge he will face in addition to "violating public decency" and cross-dressing.

It is not clear when the incident occurred. Contrasting reports from CNN and the UAE's Gulf News state that the man was arrested on Friday and Sunday, respectively.

R.S.R., whose mug shot has been circulating throughout various media outlets, now faces public prosecution

According to the Daily Mail, Sharjah is "considered the strictest of the United Arab Emirates" and "is the only emirate where alcohol is banned."
