The Community Coalition of South L.A. held a live viewing of the results to the 2012 presidential election. Many of the members and volunteers spent the entire day and evening going door to door to ensure that every person in the Vermont Avenue community knew where their polling location. The coalition worked heavily in pushing Proposition 30 for this election. Although results of the 44th President Barack Obama being re-elected to a second term in office were announced well before local state propositions were tallied, the coalition left knowing their work for Prop 30 would likely pay off. By Wednesday morning, the results showed it clearly had. In the video, Maqueece Harris-Dawson, President and CEO of the Community Coalition, and other individuals present at the viewing express their hopes for both the proposition and the election outcome.
