The gasoline shortage in the New York City area should be over in a couple more days, said Mayor Michael Bloomberg Saturday.

Bloomberg urged New Yorkers to be patient, NBC News reported.

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced that the Department of Defense has deployed five mobile fuel stations to New York City and Long Island in the meantime.

The gas will be free, however, the government has asked the public to stay away from the locations until emergency responders get their gas first however, the Huffington Post reported.
