American Music Awards 2012: Predictions For The Country Nominations
In the Favorite Male Artist category, the nominees are Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan and Eric Church. Since Jason Aldean was caught kissing former American Idol contestant Brittany Kerrin September, he lost a lot of respect from fans, and that will affect his chances of winning. Even though he came out with a statement the next day apologizing, that's not something his fans will forget. That being said, the ultimate winner will be Luke Bryan. Even though Church won album of the year for "Chief" at the CMA awards earlier this year, the fans vote this time, and Bryan's good looks will bring him out on top. Church is becoming more popular with his first number one singles this year, "Drink in My Hand" and "Springsteen," but Bryan's ahead of him with four number one singles, which included a summer anthem for many, "Drunk on You." Bryan has too many women swooning over him and too many good hits not to win Favorite Male Artist.
The nominees for Favorite Female Artist are Miranda Lambert, Taylor Swift, and Carrie Underwood. Even though Lambert won Female Vocalist of the year at the Country Music Awards in September and maybe should win Favorite Female Artist, Taylor Swift will end up taking home the trophy. And it's all because of her fans. The fact that she just released her brand new album, "Red," will give her a boost too. Lambert and Underwood have plenty of fans, but not as many dedicated ones as T Swift. There are too many love struck teenagers out there who live by her lyrics that will win her vote.
The favorite band, duo, group category is probably the hardest prediction because they are all 'oldies but goodies.' The Zac Brown Band, Lady Antebellum, and Rascal Flatts are all nominated this year. None of them are rookies to the business. They have all been together for at least six or more years, all have had number one hits and all have won at least one CMA award. So it just goes to show how talented each one of these groups are. Rascal Flatts just received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in September and that will be their only win this year. Lady Antebellum will 'own the night' on Sunday and take home the win.
The category of favorite album of the year is almost a guaranteed win for Carrie Underwood. The two other albums nominated, Luke Bryan's "Tailgates & Tanlines" and Lionel Richie's "Tuskegee" aren't even close to beating out Underwood's Platinum record setting album "Blown Away." Although "Tuskegee" and "Tailgates & Tanlines" both went platinum also, they are no contender for Underwood. Her first three albums were number one and is no exception. Lionel Richie is a soul and R&B singer who will always be seen in the Motown genre by fans. The "Good Girl" singer will win it over Bryan because her album is newer and more current to fans.
