With the American Music Awards airing Sunday, November 18th, we’ll see big winners, big losers, gorgeous gowns and some questionable style choices. In honor of the award show’s monumental 40th birthday, I bring you the worst AMA fashion offenders of the 2000s.

Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears (2001)

As far as hideous looks go, no one will ever top the atrocity that is B Spears’s and JT’s coordinating double denim look. That denim tux, her bedazzled jean gown….now that’s style. (pictured at right)

T-Pain (2008)

Okay...what? Rapper T-Pain's animal print hoodie with matching top hat, complete with hideous, oversized white sunglasses, a gold grill and massive chain is really just atrocious. No words.

Phoebe Price (2010)

Of all the model’s hideous AMA looks, this is possibly the worst of them all. As if one hideous pattern wasn’t enough, add in a hundred more. The black-feathered headdress only adds to the confusion of this entire look, and that giant necklace is just plain awful. You’ve really outdone yourself this time, Phoebe.

Nicki Minaj (2011)

Not that I’d ever expect anything more from Nicki Minaj, but this is just awful.  The bubblegum-pink pyramid bob, the Oscar de la Renta green marshmallow of a skirted bottom half—none of it works. The black crochet and lace top is almost a glimmer of hope…until it’s overshadowed by whatever that choker is around her neck. But, after all, would everyone love to hate her nearly as much if she wasn’t completely ridiculous?
