Obama Adds Colorado To Win Column
Colorado posed a challenge for Mitt Romney because of the growing Latino electorate that makes up 14 percent of eligible voters in Colorado. Obama polled well in Denver and Boulder, which make up 17 percent of the state's electorate.
The economy was the most important issue for more than half of Colorado voters, more than the federal budget deficit, health care or foreign policy. About four in 10 think the economy is getting better, but about half blame George W. Bush more than Obama for the economic woes.
Obama cruised to a victory in 2008 with 53.7 percent of the vote.
An amendment that would legalize marijuana for recreational use was also on the Colorado ballot. Amendment 64 has the support of 57 percent of voters in an early exit poll.
