The United Arab Emirates announced Sunday it would deliver aid to teenage activist Malala Yousufzai via air ambulance as she recovers after being shot by the Taliban in Pakistan.

The Associated Press reported the news came as a source to Al Jazeera told the outlet the 14-year-old had "very limited" chances of fully recovering.

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the Tuesday attack, saying Malala was promoting "Western thinking." Police have arrested three suspects—brothers Qari Inamullah, Obaid Ullah and Abdul Hadi, all from the Swat Valley.

Visas are being secured for six doctors and the crew that will take them to Pakistan, and three hospitals are preparing to care for the girl in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
