Simon Cowell and Will.I.Am Plan A New Tech Based X-Factor
The two allegedly had a “wicked dinner” in Los Angeles last month, as they discussed plans for their potential T.V. show, according to Will.i.am. He made the announcement for their idea at a technology conference held in England some time ago.
The idea for the new “Techs Factor” show has drawn a lot of comparisons with another reality television show called Shark Tank, where various entrepreneurs and inventors try and convince rich “Sharks” to invest in them and their idea.
Very similarly to this, Cowell and Will.i.am are out to find the next Bill Gates and Steve Jobs from the tech world, and if they can find and invest in them early on, their X Factor for tech could spell them some very big bucks.
Regardless of his motivations for the show, Will.i.am has been a strong supporter of bringing children closer towards the math and sciences, with his charity work to raise over 7 million dollars for an East Los Angeles school that focuses on STEM (Science, Technology, Education, and Math) principles. He has also been advocating and promoting STEM for some time now, and has worked with NASA on several STEM projects in the past.
On the other hand, it could be Simon Cowell’s attempt at another successful reality T.V. show, though when he broke away from American Idol he promised at least twenty million views for X Factor, which he failed to deliver. Regardless, we can keep it in mind among the next branch of upcoming television shows, and who knows, we might find out what the Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson of the tech world look like.
