In his first solo appearance since Thursday’s vice-presidential debate Rep. Paul Ryan attacked President Obama for being too soft on China, Saturday during a campaign stop in Ohio.

The attack came after the Obama administration said Friday that it would delay the release of a biannual Treasury Department report on whether China is manipulating it's currency to gain trade advantages until after the election, CBS reported.

“The administration had their eighth chance to label China a currency manipulator,” Ryan said during his speech, as reported by ABC. “That’s eight opportunities they had to say, ‘You know what? Play fair with us. Trade with us fairly.’ ”

The Treasury Department said the decision will now come after a meeting of finance ministers and central bank presidents in Mexico City in early Nov. which will host officials in 20 nations, including China.

The agency said the delay would allow the administration to "assess progress," the Washington Post reported.
