Following President Barack Obama’s spar with Republican nominee Mitt Romney at the first presidential debate, polls and pundits have declared Romney as the winner. Here’s a roundup of what people have decided:

CNN: Romney won.

Immediately after the debate, Candace Crowley declared that if first test is to hold one’s ground against the president, Mitt Romney certainly passed that test. John King concurred: the “Twitter-verse” shows a lot of happy Republicans.

Their poll results: 67 percent believe Romney won the debate, while 25 percent believe Obama won.

CBS: Romney won.

From reporter Nancy Cordes’ Twitter feed:

“CBS News instapoll: 46% said Romney won. 22% said Obama won. 32% said tie. Decisive win for Romney.”

Breitbart.com: Romney won.

No surprise here:

Gov. Mitt Romney eviscerated a staggering and bewildered President Barack Obama tonight in one of the most lopsided presidential debates in American history. Throughout the debate, which focused on domestic policy, Obama looked shaken, rarely looking at the camera, reciting old talking points and filibustering as Romney gave a master class at the University of Denver.

Forbes: Romney looked like he won.

In terms of temperament, Obama foiled while Romney held his ground:

Throughout most of the debate, and especially in the first half, Romney seemed more confident and flexible and yet determined than President Obama did. Obama looked defensive and uncertain. Romney may have said things that were clearly untrue—I believe he did—but he said them convincingly, and Obama didn’t even challenge them.

Huffington Post: It’s a set-up!

Columnist Zach Friend asserted before tonight’s conversation that Romney would win, simply because journalists need to feed their families:

Well, if Romney "loses" tonight's debate the race is effectively over. But the person who "wins" the debate is often determined by the media spin after. And it's in the media's best interest to ensure that Romney wins tonight.
