Episode 3 begins in Japan in 2008 with Emily running in the dark from vicious dogs. She is racing against the hot British guy, and instantly, I am on board with this episode.

Back in real time, Amanda and Jack are anticipating the arrival of their baby. Jack is debating between Yankees blue and Jets green for the baby's room. So New York!

The four Graysons are under the same roof again, under the rule of Victoria and her schemes. Victoria has a flashback to her time on the airplane. In the vision the white-haired man gives her the opportunity to leave the plane immediately, saying they will work together for Conrad's demise as long as he is given half of Charlotte's inheritence. It is unclear whether her story is true, or if she is preparing mentally to lie to the press and to Daniel.

Minute 15, mouth is agape. The British hottie is in a dumpster with a plane ticket to Japan in his pocket, courtesy of Emily. Luckily he wakes up and escapes before being dropped into a garbage truck. I guess that's Em's idea of a thank you for taking out the white-haired man!

Victoria invites Emily over to discuss a strategy for dealing with the media. With icy smiles Victoria urges Emily to stay away from her family, effective immediately, and has her escorted off the property. After escaping the dumpster, the hot British guy uses a motel key he found on the white-haired man to search his motel room, and finds the flight recorder from Victoria and Lydia's doomed flight in the air conditioning unit.

Minute 19, OMG it's Emily's mom!!!!

Hot/ nosy British guy speaks with Emily's mom who works at the motel. After he uses a fake identity, posing as a cop, Emily's mom is onto him and knows something is up. It is unclear, however, how much he knows about her identity.

Amanda is back to causing trouble for Emily per usual. She refuses to help Emily plant one of her father's journals at the Grayson's upcoming press conference. But Emily uses her powers of persuasion and finally gets her to agree.

Nolan and Padma, his new CFO, are focused on work in the city, though Nolan is still trying to scheme with Emily by phone.

Victoria and Conrad exchange venomous words in their pristine mansion. Victoria's face is still healing from her beating that took place in the last episode.

Emily has a flashback to Japan and we learn that she and the hot British guy previously had a relationship - translation: make out scene. We also learn that his name is Aiden. He was training under Takeda as well with hopes of "saving his sister". Perhaps we'll learn more about that later?

Nolan is moving out of Emily's beach house. Sad! Aiden roughed him up not knowing who he was, and Emily asked Nolan to go. He became irritated with Emily for being secretive about the identity of Aiden. Nolan asked how he could help Emily find her mom, but she declined explaining he had already done enough and that she would one day find a way to thank him. Is this the end of Emily and Nolan's scheming?? I won't be able to stand it!

We learn the white-haired man was named Gordon Murphy- I say "was" because he is dead now. Remember the end of last episode when Aiden shot him? Emily found a bottle of anti-psychotic pills on him and a pocket watch with a photo of her mother inside. She thinks the pills are possibly her mother's and is confident that Gordon knew her mom.

Declan is in trouble for pulling some poorly executed robberies. Luckily the guy who busted Declan doesn't want to press charges, though he does make a bit of a threat to Jack.

Victoria attempts to continue her media parade, but Charlotte interrupts the interview after Amanda delivers the journal of David Clarke which reveals that she killed him. Charlotte tells the journalist that her real father is David Clarke. Simultaneously Daniel received an anonymous note with Victoria's fake passport and knows she faked her "kidnapping". Drama at Grayson manor!!!

Victoria calls a family meeting and essentially threatens everyone and says they must band together. For some reason they concede.

Minute 48 - Emily and Amanda are both in Grayson Manor. Didn't Victoria tell Emily to stay away? What is happening? Victoria takes the microphone at her press conference and announces that Charlotte is the "blessed consequence" of her affair with David Clarke. Charlotte takes the stage with her, followed by Conrad and Daniel. And then Victoria calls up…Amanda! She declares them one solid family. Creepy.

Before approaching the stage, Conrad gets a sketchy phone call from someone stating that the agency the white-haired man worked for is upset with his transgressions and require Conrad's involvement.

Jack did not enjoy seeing Amanda on TV with the Graysons, and says while he will support their child, he cannot be with her. I'm sure Em will be happy to hear that.

Emily has a flashback to Japan and we learn the reason she's upset with Aiden is because he abandoned her there. As many times as he tries to say he's sorry, she's not over it. He gives her the flight recorder and Gordon's cell phone.

Emily listens to a voicemail left by her mother and discovers her mother was in love with Gordon!!

In the voicemail, her mother says that if she doesn't here from Gordon soon, she will shut everything down and "go to black" as discussed. Tears roll down Emily's face as she hears the message.

What does this all mean? Does Emily's mother know that Gordon tried to kill Emily multiple times? Are they in cahoots? Had Gordon brainwashed her completely? Why did he have the bottle of anti-psychotics on him? And why does everyone keep insinuating that learning the truth about Emily's mother will be worse than knowing nothing at all?

So many mysteries remain, and… next week's episode looks incredible! Must we really wait a whole week?
