Obama’s poor performance not only infuriated many Democrats but also cost him in the polls.

According to the most recent Rasmussen poll, Obama and Romney are tied, each with 15 percent of the vote. However, in the latest Gallup poll, Romney is up by 2 percent among likely voters but down among registered voters.

Despite the national polling, the swing states matter the most this late in the election season.

According to Rasmussen Reports, Romney has the edge in Virginia by 1 percent; 49 percent to 48 percent. In Florida, Romney is up by 2 percent; 49 percent to 47 percent. In September, Obama had the edge in Florida – 48 percent to 46 percent – according to Rasmussen. 

In Nevada, the president and former governor are now tied. Nevada is Sen. Harry Reid’s home state and the home of Sheldon Adelson, CEO and chairman of Las Vegas Sands Corporation. Adelson has contributed millions to the pro-Romney super PAC and pledged to spend a lot more that what he has already given.

Obama still holds the lead in Colorado and Ohio. According to Rasmussen, Obama is up 49 percent to 48 percent in Colorado and he is up 50 percent to 49 percent in Florida. 

Both candidates realize they need Ohio to win.
