With 13 days until the presidential election, President Obama will tape his fifth appearance Wednesday on NBC's Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

The incumbent has been making his television rounds with recent appearances on The Daily Show and a scheduled live taping on MTV this Friday.

The Tonight Show is a consistent top performer in the 18-49 age demographic with the highest viewership rating among late-night network lineup.

Even Michelle Obama has joined in on the action. She scheduled her Hollywood appearance for the Jimmy Kimmell show on Thursday.

This isn't the first time candidates have appeared on late-night television. President Kennedy appeared with Jack Paar, the Tonight Show host precededing Johnny Carson, during the 1960 primary election.

Many past presidential hopefuls have taken their television appearance to the next level. In 2003, Republican nominee John Kerry rode his motorcycle onstage. In another instance, President Clinton during his 1992 campaign played the saxophone wearing sunglasses for The Arsenio Hall Show.
