Meningitis Outbreak Linked To 23 Deaths
The most recent death was reported in North Carolina. Cases of fungal meningitis have occured so far in 16 states, ranging across the East Coast and Midwest.
The cause of the outbreak is linked to steroid shots for back pain made by a specialty pharmacy in Massachusetts, the Associated Press reported. The shot has since been recalled.
