Seventy-three members of Congress sponsored or co-sponsored legislation which benefitted themselves or famiy members, according to the Washington Post

Among the lucrative laws were tax breaks for horse owners, extended grazing permits and a natural gas bill which all directly benefited the legislators who voted for them.

The practice is considered legal and ethical under the rules which Congress has written for itself.
