The show must go on… even with Hurricane Sandy.

That was the case for late night hosts David Letterman, Jimmy Fallon and Andy Cohen who managed to air a new episode Monday night even as the streets below their studios were beginning to flood.

On Andy Cohen’s “Watch What Happens Live,” the host put on a pajama party where he took phone calls from viewers and delivered sneak peeks of upcoming Bravo shows.

Jimmy Fallon took his monologue outside to Rockefeller Center where the rain was already coming down. In contrast, David Letterman jogged into an empty Ed Sullivan theatre and sat in his usual desk to recite the jokes he might have wished were delivered in front of an energetic crowd.

Lucky for viewers…and the hosts, Tuesday night’s episodes will include new guests and an audience.

Based on Monday's shows, is an audience necessary for late night? Were you laughing as much Monday evening as any other night? Watch David and Jimmy’s monologue below and let us know by commenting.
