This week's "Grey's" flashes back to the rescue of the doctors in the woods, and viewers finally find out what happened immediately after the doctors are rescued, and how they're coping.

In this high-emotion episode, every character is dealing with something on their own; so let's take it one doctor at a time.

Derek: The plane crash has left Derek's left hand pretty badly damaged. He's told it's likely that he will be able to get 80 percent function left in his hand- pretty good, but not enough to operate successfully again. Callie has an idea of a more dangerous surgery that could potentially restore 100 percent function to Derek's hand. It's risky, but in the end Derek wants to do it and wants Callie to perform it.

Meredith: Miraculously, Meredith came out of the crash with no severe injuries, and in this episode is the glue that is trying to hold everyone together. Handling things surprisingly well, Mer is going around telling everyone that everything is going to be "fine", and that everyone will get through the chaos.

Cristina: One of the more frustrating/scary stories in this episode, Cristina's injury is not physical, but a heavy case of PTSD, making her unable to speak a word- literally. Not even Meredith can get her to speak, begging her to say a word before they took her to the psych ward. Later in the episode, Owen is giving her a bath when she finally cracks- and we learn the gruesome details about what happened those four days the doctors were stranded. In the end, Cristina flees to Minnesota to work at a new hospital (I know, I gasped too).

Arizona: Holy drama! We see the shot timeline of what happened to Arizona's leg. Callie promises not to cut off her leg, even though things were looking pretty dim (why did Callie promise!?) After Callie creates a detailed plan with Owen to save Arizona's leg, Arizona crashes while Karev is saying his goodbyes (he finally decided to go to John-Hopkins), and Callie gives him the O.K. to amputate her leg!

Sloan: The tears and high emotions were all because of Sloan, as we see his final days unfold. He has his last "surge" as Dr. Webber called it, his last surge of energy and fools everyone into thinking that he would recover just fine. Unfortunately, very quickly Mark Sloan deteriorates right before our eyes, and takes his last breath before falling into a coma, but for everyone who watched last week, we know what happens.

This season is off to a great start and next week we will see the doctors trying to move forward, and put their traumatic experiences behind them.
