Democrats Can Lose, Even If They Win The Election

What's better: the democrats tied for control of the Senate while losing the presidency and the House, or the democrats merely losing the Senate all together? Maybe it is better for the democrats to lose the Senate in order to spare their dignity.

How much can the democrats do in a divided senate in the aftermath of a Romney victory? Nothing really, except try to keep a repeal of Obamacare off the floor.

The democrats will be forced to make deals with Republican Senators Joe Manchin and Mark Pryor, according to Slate.com. Not to mention the prospect of cutting deals with Mitt Romney, whom Harry Reid can't stand.

The democrats will appear as vulnerable prey squashed in between the aggressive house and an eager Mitt Romney. This doesn't seem like an ideal path to victory in 2014.

The reason this debate has even started is due to the democrats' astonishing leads in competitive states.

The Massachusetts senate race is turning favorably for Elizabeth Warren, who now leads by as much as nine points. Claire McCaskill is now up by an average of five points against her opponent, Todd Akin, according to RealClearPolitics.com. Other states like Pennsylvania and Connecticut also show major headway for the Democratic candidates seeking election.

These twists in the plot would have seemed unfathomable over a year ago. It appears now that winning is not always winning.
