A temporary Amazon outage Monday affected other websites, including Netflix, Reddit, Fliboard, Pintrest and The Daily Beast's commenting system because Amazon is one of the biggest cloud-based service providers.

Amazon blamed the crash on "connectivity issues," reports the Daily Beast.

Amazon attributed the issues to servers in Virginia.

A Twitter user claimed responsibility. The same Twitter user took responsibility for last week's Go Daddy crash, which the company denied, according to NBC News. The Twitter user calls themselves "Anonymous Own3r."

Amazon data centers also had problems last June and in 2011 a few sites were down for multiple days.
