ABC Family's 13 Nights of Halloween: A Real Trick-or-Treat

If you’re looking for movies to get you in the Halloween spirit ABC Family is the channel to watch.
ABC Family will kick- off their “13 Nights of Halloween” spine-chilling programming on Oct. 19 with the magical world of Harry Potter and the Half- Blood Prince at 1:00 pm, the ancient evils in The Mummy at 4:30 pm, the morbid family values in The Addams Family at 7:00 pm and The Addams Family Values at 9:00 pm.

Day 2 (October 20)
Wake up bright and early at 7:00 am to watch a "Melissa and Joey" Halloween episode where they begin hearing frightful noises from the attic. At 7:30 am take a trip down memory lane to where it all began when Sabrina gained her magical powers for the first time in "Sabrina the Teenage Witch". If you want to continue your morning with the shades drawn and your television on watch as a group of misfit vampires venture on a quest to find an amulet that will make them human in The Little Vampire at 9:30 am. The teen girl turned witch theme will continue with The Teen Witch at 11:30 am. Then viewers will take a little break from witches and coffins to watch a true classic, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at 1:30 pm. As light turns into dark the spooky movies will continue to show. If you missed The Addams Family and The Addams Family Values Friday night tune in for a re-run at 4:00 and 6:00 pm. Saturday night will end with the flick of wand and a kick of a broomstick with Hocus Pocus at 8:00 pm. Viewers beware because the Sanderson sisters could put a spell on you.

Day 3 (October 21)

ABC Family will transform into Tim Burton central on Sunday. The Tim Burton festivities will commence at 9:30 am with the movie Coraline, where a little girl finds a door to an odd animated fantasy version of her normal life. At 11:30 am get ready to travel back to the 19th century in Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride where a pianist mistakenly marries a dead woman who takes him to the underworld. Next at 1:30 pm viewers will be taken on a journey through a famous rabbit hole and land in a magic with a Chesire Cat and a Mad Hatter in the movie Alice in Wonderland. Continue on through your alternate reality journey with Charlie to a famous factory in the re-run of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at 4:00 pm. Tim Burton mania will continue with the Pumpkin King giving the Christmas season a sprinkling of the Halloween spirit in The Nightmare Before Christmas at 6:30 pm. Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice! Those words are safe to read, but are never to be said aloud. Continue on to the land of the dead with the creepy comedy Beetlejuice at 8:00 pm. End your journey right back in suburbs with the tale of the lonely fellow who had scissors for hands in Tim Burton’s classic, Edward Scissorhands.

Day 4 (October 22)
Forget the stressful work or school day and delve back into the Halloween world with a re run of Edward Scissorhands at 6:00 pm. For you Switched at Birth fans stay tuned for a special Halloween finale at 8:00 pm where the families lives are turned upside down after the trial. Conclude your night with two sisters who are trying to avoid a family history filled with witchcraft in Practical Magic at 9:00 pm.

Day 5 (October 23)
Got a secret, Can you keep it? Swear this one you'll save. Better lock it, In your pocket, Taking this one to the grave. We all know what this means a "Pretty Little Liars" marathon starting at 1:00 pm. This marathon will conclude at 8:00 pm with an all new all Halloween themed "Pretty Little Liars" episode when the girls enter the Rosewood Ghost Train for a Halloween scare. If you’re still looking to feed your spooky craving continue on with the Sanderson sisters as they look for a way to quell their immortal appetite in Hocus Pocus at 9:00 pm.

Day 6 (October 24)
The evening will start off in Salem, Massachusetts with your favorite magical black cat when a normal teenage boy’s life is turned upside down by the terrifying Sanderson sisters in Hocus Pocus at 5:00 pm. Scooby Dooby Doo where are you? Well tonight he’s right here on ABC Family with the rest of the gang investigating frightening crimes in the movie Scooby Doo. If you can’t get enough of Scooby Doo follow the gang to Coolsville where their on a mission to save humans from ghouls in Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed.

Day 7 (October 25)
The Halloween horror continues at 5:00 pm with the horror-comedy The Haunted Mansion. When a family encounters ghosts in a haunted New Orleans mansion you don’t know whether to laugh or cover your eyes. They’re creepy and they’re kooky, mysterious, and spooky what other family does this better describe than the Addams Family. Revisit the family in The Addams Family at 7:00 pm and be there for the arrival of the mustachioed baby in Addams Family Values at 9:00 pm.

Day 8 (October 26)
Kick off your weekend of Halloween festivities with a good laugh. At 4:30 pm watch the Halloween- themed episode of the comedy series "Reba" where Reba’s family is too busy to participate in Reba’s Halloween plans. If you’re in need of a little magic or witch’s brew watch Teen Witch at 5:00 pm. If you didn’t catch the Owen’s sisters creating dream men and flying on broomsticks you’re in luck because Practical Magic will replay at 7:00 pm. End you’re Friday night with Matilda as she uses her newfound mental abilities to cause a little mischief.

Day 9 (October 27)
Wake up to your favorite Disney fairy, Tinkerbell, in Hook where a man turns into Peter Pan to battle the evil Captain Hook. Join your favorite foursome, Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy, and Scooby, as they battle monsters, ghouls, and ghosts in their big screen re-runs, Scooby Doo and Scooby Doo: Monsters Unleashed from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm. If you just can’t get enough of the disturbing family hair-raising adventures in saving Uncle Fester tune in for The Addams Family and Addams Family Values from 2:00- 4:00 pm. At 6:00 pm return to the suburbs and join the little girl with magical powers in Matilda. At 8:00 pm rejoin Disney as they turn a seemingly normal residence into a frightening living monster that three neighborhood kids must defeat in Monster House.

Day 10 (October 28)
With Halloween just three days away watch re-runs of Halloween favorites starting at 7:30 am with Addams Family Values and continuing on until 5:30 pm with Hocus Pocus. At 7:30 pm get ready to look at the magical world through the eyes of a wizard in The Sorcerer’s Apprentice where a man is trained to save Manhattan from evil forces.

Day 11 (October 29)
ABC brings a frightening line up for the chilling October night. The disturbing day starts at 1:00 pm with a Halloween themed "8 Simple Rules" episode where a campout in an old tree house for Halloween turns a nightmare into a reality. If you’re still wondering how a house can be so terrifying return to the scene of Monster House at 1:30 pm to the house that scares the wits out of three kids. Watch the spells cast and wands fly as The Sorcerer’s Apprentice comes on at 3:30 pm. At 6:00 pm watch as a group of misfit teenage boys decide to follow a treasure map created by the pirate, One- Eyed Willie in the classic movie The Goonies. The fearsome line up will commence at 8:30 pm with the beginning of a famous mummy hunter’s career when he opens the tomb of an ancient mummy seeking revenge in The Mummy.

Day 12 (October 30)
ABC has saved the scariest movies for the night before All Hollows Eve. At 12:30 the bone-chilling trilogy of The Poltergeist begins. For those of you that survived through the first 11 days with no nightmares you will be sleeping with a night light on after these movies. The Poltergeist begins when a normal family is terrorized by demons from another dimension when they’re little girl Carol Anne is abducted by a demon, Kane, and taken to another dimension that she can’t find her way out of.  They family moves to Phoenix, Arizona, but Kane follows Carol Anne there and continue to terrorize them in The Poltergeist 2: The Other Side. We’re Back is the final installment in the series and will have you throwing the blanket over your head and locking the doors. Carol Anne is sent to live with family in Chicago, but that won’t stop the evil demon Kane from following her there and putting her whole family in danger. On a lighter note, to distract you from the thought of evil supernatural forces and a little girl named Carol Anne, Edward Scissorhands will be shown at 7:00 pm.

Day 13 (October 31)
All Hallows Eve is finally here and ABC Family has a cauldron full of tricks, treats, and ghoulish surprises! Be sure to tune in on October 31st to see what dreadfully thrilling nightmares ABC has in store.
