The 2012 presidential campaign supposedly passed the $2 billion fundraising mark Thursday after an influx of donations, according to CBS News.

CBS made sure to say that the money came from "both ordinary citizens and the wealthiest Americans hoping to influence the selection of the country's next leader."

The campaign is on track to make this election the wealthiest ever.

According to Reuters, Romney raised more money than Obama in the first 17 days of October, but Obama leads the overall fundraising effort.

While both campaigns gear up to outspend each other, President Obama let loose during an interview with Rolling Stone, calling Mitt Romney a "bullshitter," according to the Guardian.

Obama used the word in response to a statement by the magazine's executive editor.

The editor said that his six-year-old daughter had told him to say to the president, "Tell him: you can do it."  Obama reportedly grinned and said, "You know, kids have good instincts.  They look at the other guy and say, 'Well, that's a bullshitter, I can tell.'"

So, we're coming down to the wire on this election.  Even the candidates are starting to swear on the record.
