After a definitive win against Hawaii, USC began preparations for its next game against Syracuse at MetLife Stadium. Here are notes from today’s practice.

LEE HUMBLED BY SUCCESS

After a great performance last weekend and being placed on Heisman watch lists, Marqise Lee smiled it off and vowed to focus on what is to come. “I don’t think about [having good games,” Lee said, even though he was one of football’s best players on Saturday. “I appreciate it. Big shoes to fill, but I’m not really worrying about it” Lee stated when asked about his placement among college football’s top players. When asked about if head coach Lane Kiffin’s statements about Lee becoming the best USC receiver ever is pressure, he replied, “Super pressure,” to laughs. Check out all of Lee’s interview below:

BARKLEY, LEE SIDELINE TIFF NOTHING

Much was made of Lee and Matt Barkley’s altercations during the game, the first of which occurred when Lee motioned for a pass to be higher, the second with Barkley. “We talk on the sideline, most of it was addressed. I made a mistake. That was it,” Lee said. It was just a case of two fiery competitors expressing frustration. Move along. Watch a minute with Matt Barkley after today’s practice:

KIFFIN NOT TAKING ‘CUSE LIGHTLY

During their pre-Pac-12 schedule, the Trojans face Hawaii (win) and the forthcoming opponent, Syracuse. Though not known for its football tradition, the Orange are on their way up after a narrow defeat against Northwestern, 42-41, and may have their best season in a while. Quarterback Ryan Nassib against the Trojan defense worries Kiffin. “I don’t care who you play, where it’s at, everybody played a football game Saturday, and nobody threw for more yards than [Nassib] did.” Watch the rest of Kiffin’s presser below:
