Long evening gowns seem to be the top trend at the 2012 Emmy Awards tonight. The red carpet featured the beauties of the silver screen dressed in floor length dresses in a variety of yellows, blues, greens and pinks. This is not shocking, since these colours have dominated the runways this season as well.

The blues club featured New Girl's Zooey Deschanel in a pale tulle gown by Reem Acra, as well as Modern Family's Sofia Vergara in a handbeaded gown by her husband. Modern Family's Julie Bowen looked stunning in a yellow maxi and Julianne Moore looked beautiful as ever in her long sleeved dress. Tina Fey of 30 Rock couldn't look more different from the dorky Liz Lemon, but Jane Krakowski maintained her superstar aura from the show. Other well dressed ladies included Nina Dobrev, Sara Hyland, Kate Mara and Giuliana Rancic.

January Jones of Mad Men was by far the most fabulous in her black Zac Posen evening dress. Leading the men, was, of course, the dapper Alec Baldwin, with an elegant Hilaria Thomas by his side.
