Top Five Negative Presidential Campaign Ads

The season of depressingly aggressive campaign ads has begun.

President Barack Obama's and candidate Mitt Romney's campaign ads have hit the TVs, and the majority of these consist of one candidate attacking the other for various out-of-context quotes or past decisions.

So here are the top five most negative campaign ads…so far.

#5: "You didn't build that!"

A particular favorite of mine, because the GOP pretty much built the entire day of the Republican National Convention based on an out-of-context quote by President Obama, and now has created a campaign ad out of it. The full quote talks about the infrastructure that business owners couldn't have created--for example, roads, community centers, and bridges--but it's been manipulated to insinuate the idea that our president doesn't believe that business owners built their businesses themselves. The ad then goes on to feature a business owner who says that Obama is "demonizing" people who build business. Watch the full ad right here:

#4: Would Romney have killed Bin Laden?

Kind of a moot point, isn't it, because turns out Bin Laden's already dead, and yet this Obama-funded ad asks the American population whether Romney would have really killed Bin Laden and questions his leadership based on an out of context quote by Romney from a couple of years ago. Romney actually said, "We'll move everything to get him. But I don't want to buy into the Democratic pitch that this is all about one person-- Osama bin Laden -- because after we get him, there's going to be another and another."

Watch a newsy clip about the ad here:

#3: The Private Sector ain't doing fine

Romney's ad here makes me laugh because, along with using a quote from Obama saying "The private sector is doing fine" repeating in the background like a broken record, he uses a testimonial from a person who says that she doesn't have healthcare anymore as an example of Obama's failed policies. It's kind of unfortunate, then, that Romney has vowed to repeal Obama's health care plan, which would provide healthcare to the American population as a whole.

Watch this beauty here:

#2: Ad-ception

The hypocrisy in this ad is almost moving. Obama's ad features an ad by Mitt Romney attacking him--and then attacks the former for spending so much money on negative campaign ads. Well, you know, his bad.

Watch the ad here:

#1: Obama hates religion!

And for the finale, we have a Romney ad where Obama is accused of declaring a "war on religious values" using Obamacare by not allowing organizations to back out of covering birth control when it offends their moral values. The closing line is a beauty, saying, "When religious freedom is threatened, who do you want to stand with?" Hm. Good question.

I’m starting to think a dirty secret the top 1% doesn’t want the American people to know, they want to take the average people out of the government monies loop so there’s more for the rich guys. The funny thing these rich guys are so out of touch they don’t even know the American PEOPLE can’t stand them. I do a lot of traveling through the Southern Red States and all I’ve heard from Conservatives is they wish Romney would drop dead so Jeb bush could take his place.

All these silver spoon, trust fund babies are the same Romney, George W. and what about Rand Paul? Speaking of “Government Bullies”, shameless silver spoon Rand Paul is making the rounds promoting his book. …Republicans in Congress just killed Vets jobs bill S.3457 led by Rand Paul who filibustered the legislation AND NOT ONE OF SO-CALLED tv NEWS PEOPLE CALLED HIM ON IT!

How come none of these Republican Party chicken hawks or Morning Joe cowards served in the military anyways? They’re like Frenchy Romney and his 5 goofy sons.

For anyone who doesn’t think the USA is front lines of a world wide Class War just listen to that secret Romney video. It sounds like Mitt the Twit would bring back slavery if he could but Chinese like working conditions and low wages are the next best thing.

You have got to be kidding me. Obama attacking Romney for killing a woman should be #1. "You didn't build that" is not a negative ad, it's Obama's own words, same with the private sector doing fine ad. Nandini Ruparel, this is a biased piece of trash and I hope you have a great career working for the New York Times because you are an undisciplined pathetic journalist with no ounce of integrity.
