An 18-year-old from Illinois was arrested for planning to detonate a car bomb outside a bar in Chicago.

The FBI arrested Adel Dould, who may now face life in prison, reports The Daily Beast.

He was charged with with two counts, one of attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction.

The FBI have reportedly been monitoring him for a year since he made posts related to jihadist activities on the internet. The agency supplied him with the explosives he allegedly planned to use in the attack. The explosives posed no real threat, the FBI told Bloomberg.
