A suicide bomber killed at least six Afghan civilians Saturday in an attack outside the NATO headquarters in Kabul. Officials blamed on the Haqqani network, a militant group linked to the Taliban that the U.S. has designated a terrorist organization, the Associated Press reported.

A senior Haqqani commander interviewed by the AP vowed revenge for Friday’s decision to give the Pakistan-based network a terrorist label.

From the AP:

The commander said the Haqqani network's military commander, Sirajuddin Haqqani, wants to carry out "80 to 100 attacks on U.S. forces in Afghanistan and 20 attacks on other NATO members" in retaliation for the terrorist declaration.

Kabul police estimated the bomber to be about 14 years old. The blast occurred just before noon, detonated as he walked down the street. The Ministry of Interior told the AP that some of the victims were street children.
